So, it is technically not a see, nor am I technically a Bishop.
I’m a theology student reflecting on faith, on God, on life, and, well, theology. Currently within the church there is a lot of talk about a new sort of Christianity, as if the “old” one has become tattered, worn, and worthless; as if we should throw it out or at least donate it to the salvation army.
I do not think this is the case. I think that the “old” church is terrific, in spite of its imperfections, for with those imperfections come wisdom, knowledge, and truth. I truly believe that if we are to survive as a church we can not discard our pasts, lest we, like the house built on sand, fall greatly. We must know where we came from if we ever hope to dream of where we are going.
Thats what I want this “see” to be about. A dialog of faith with our pasts, with our brothers and sisters, and indeed with ourselves.
